A college graduate with a BS/BA degree, or a polished professional with cold calling or tech sales experience
Dynamic and full of energy
1-5 years previous sales or business development experience
1-5 years prior experience in cold calling
Background or strong interest in construction management, materials, or technology
Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day activities that are relevant to the sales team to implement the organization’s overall sales strategy
Possess excellent written and people skills
Able to learn quickly, keen listening and critical thinking
Strong time management and organizational skills
Experience utilizing HubSpot or other CRM systems
A collaborative teammate who enjoys friendly competition
Job Description:
As the business development representative at SmartPM, you are on the tip of the spear in helping SmartPM find new clients through outbound communication. Your outbound communication efforts will be a means by which you can secure meetings with SmartPM and prospective clients to demonstrate their world when with SmartPM. You will leverage software tools and your own ability to research the right people within target markets to secure meetings with the prospect and a SmartPM subject matter expert.
The SmartPM business development representative is a brand ambassador and often the first line of communication with a new prospective client for SmartPM. You will gain valuable hands-on experience in the most impactful area of a B2B tech company. The role is fast-paced and is intended to be the building blocks for you to become an integral member of our sales team. . Other responsibilities include:
Contact potential clients through cold calling primarily, supplemented by outreach via email and LinkedIn cadences
Execute a high volume of outbound prospecting calls to potential SmartPM clients
Perform thorough discovery to learn about the persona and businesses of each prospect and to overcome typical objections
Educate potential SmartPM clients about the value and benefits of the platform
Proactively set up meetings or discovery calls between prospective clients and the Sales Team
Progress potential clients through to a product demo with the Sales Team
Work within the shared SmartPM database (HubSpot) to perform daily administrative tasks and track performance metrics to continuously improve
Collaborate with teammates and sales leadership on strategic projects as needed
Stay up to date with new products updates and new pricing/payment plans and work collaboratively with our Sales, Product and Tech teams.
SmartPM is blazing a trail in SaaS software by solving a major problem in large commercial construction projects that struggle to arrive on time and on budget.
