ATLANTA – Sept. 22, 2021 – SmartPM Technologies Inc.’s Founder and CEO Michael Pink will be a panelist during the Innovation in Civil Engineering discussion at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 2021 Convention. The panel presentation will be held on Oct. 6 from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m.

Panelists include innovation industry and academic leaders, along with civil engineer entrepreneurs. This esteemed group of experts will discuss how strategy drives the capacity to innovate, and share some of the challenges, strategies and best practices that have contributed to their success as innovators, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs.

“I look forward to discussing the challenges I have seen in the commercial construction industry — including costly delays, overruns and disputes — and the solutions,” said Pink, whose SmartPM product addresses these problems. “Technology is helping catapult the industry forward. The solutions of the future start with innovation.”

Panelists will also discuss why, despite substantial investments of time and money, many innovation initiatives have been short-lived, or haven’t produced dramatic shifts in competitive position or sustained desired performance.

“SmartPM Technologies is an innovative disruptor in the construction industry,” Pink continued. “Critical path method scheduling has been a standard process in construction that hasn’t changed in 40 years. SmartPM is a tool that changes the game and provides instantaneous understanding about what’s happening with the performance of a construction project.” As a real-time automated analytics platform, SmartPM translates construction schedule data into objective, reliable and concise visuals all stakeholders can understand and utilize proactively to address critical project risk issues.

The panel’s moderator will be Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D, an award-winning engineering and technology executive. Pink will join panelists Bradford O. Russell, Director of Architecture and Engineering at BR Architects & EngineersBenjamin Schmidt, Ph.D., Co-founder and CEO of RoadBotics; and Eric S. Sullivan, NASSCO PACP Trainer and Director of Business Development at SewerAI. Participants will learn the value of developing a strategy for innovation, best practices to build teams that can deliver it, and the know-how to implement innovation strategies and business models.
